Answer 31 of 35: Hi Its my first visit to Turkey in Sept and ive read many conflicting things on TA/forums regarding what currency is best to take and what is used mostly when there?? Ie for shopping buses tipping bars etc.
Answer 11 of 21: We're due to visit Lara Beach in a few weeks and not sure whether to take Lira or Euros? We're all inclusive so it's only for trips etc. I've been told the Turkish prefer you to give them Euros but hear you get more for your money

Well you can use the Euros at the airport in case you want to eat or drink Pay in your own currency, whatever that is, always ahead of using a third-party currency (such as the Euro). Pay in Lira or Sterling! If you are from the UK and pay in Euros you will pay two lots of conversion fees, from Sterling to Euros and from Euros to Turkish Lira. The conversion to Lira is built into the price when you pay in Euros.
